Reason 3: Lights, Cameras, Director
Dan Trachtenberg alone, him as a director, is reason enough to get this movie because this is his first feature film as a director. He’s done shorts in the past and this was his first stab at directing a feature film and you would never know it. If I put this movie on, I would just think, “This is a super accomplished, very versatile director that’s been around forever.” This is his first feature film. I think he’s going to be one of those guys that years from now everybody is going to be talking about and people will be pointing at “10 Cloverfield Lane” as his first movie. It’s not always easy to jump into a stylized genre movie like this and to knock it out of the park as a director the way he did. Years from now, I think this will be a genuine collector’s item because of him.
