German-born, Compton raised artist and producer Problem is creating a major stir in the West. His abilities as a writer, beat-smith and emcee are all on display with his biggest mixtape release to date “The Separation”. This exclusive is filled with twenty one tracks and should be a breakout tape for Problem. Hosted by DJ Drama, this exclusive “Gangsta Grillz” edition features a wide array of Hip Hop stars and some very Westy production.
1. Put That Work In
Word on the West is that Problem aka Chachi has next. With an impressive ghost writing history which includes a verse for Snoop Dogg (Never Have To Worry) and a hook for Game and Lil’ Wayne (Red Magic), Problem has already been through a deal in 2008 with Universal Republic due to his grind on the mixtape circuit and writing services. Although the deal didn’t pan out, Problem has said it was a great learning experience. His “Second Round Knockout” mixtape spawned the hit record “I’m Toe Up”, which initially captured the labels attention. Moving forward along with his career, Problem dropped a gang of mixtapes in the past two years including the popular releases “Welcome to Mollywood 1 & 2”, “Ain’t Nobody Hotter Than Me”, and he linked with artist IamSu! for the acclaimed drop in-titled “Million Dollar Afro”.
2. Big Industry Co-Signs
With a mass of well known names on Problem’s last few mixtapes, “The Separation” could be the drop that takes him to the next level. Problem has been on his networking grustle throughout the industry working behind the scenes as well as with his own career. His independent movement with Diamond Lane Music Group is picking up traction and alliances with big name deejays such as DJ Skee and DJ Drama only help push the movement further.
3. California Coolin’
This mixtape is filled with some party bangers and jams for the homies on that all night flight. The majority of beats comes from Los Angeles, CA based League Of Starz production team who have produced for artists like E-40, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, Young Jeezy, French Montana and Big Sean. League Of Starz and Problem have worked together on previous projects and have molded a nice sound collectively. This mixtape has that true Cali sound that’s reminiscent of both the Bay Area and Compton elements. A standout track on “The Seperation” called “Phone” is an amazing joint that is produced by the well respected platinum selling producer and artist Warren G. West Up!
4. Like Whaaat
Fresh off over one million views on youtube, Problem has dropped an official Cali anthem for the summer. “Like Whaaat” features Diamond Lane Music Group fellow artist Bad Lucc. The infamous sample comes from the 1998 hit “How Ya Do That” by Young Bleed featuring C-Loc and Master P. “Like Whaaat” has been smashing the clubs and radio stations on the West Coast and it’s a matter of time before the record crosses over to the rest of the country as well. The video has cameos from Snoop Dogg, Warren G and Tha Dogg Pound.

5. Features
The list of features on “The Separation” looks like a VIP List to a Hip Hop Awards Show. Everyone from T.I., Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, Tank, Terrace Martin, Game, Tyga and Wale are aboard. Other features from Bad Lucc, IamSU!, G Malone, J Valentine and Kent do this drop justice. On the instrumental tip, Problem himself produces three tracks while big looks from Warren G and Jahlil Beats are a perfect fit. Other producers include the fore-mentioned League Of Starz, The Invasion, Yung JR, Beatboy, Soundz and Terrace Martin.
